wow! I don't really know what to say about this vase. There's so many good parts going on. It has got native Venus fly traps (Dionaea muscipula)  and pitcher plants (Sarracenia jonesii) depicted in both detailed carving form and also as a banded motif along the center of the vase. Also look for the wild blue lettuce (one of my favorite edible weeds).  this vase is quite large and took a very, very long time to carve.
